I’m trying to enable secureboot on my Asus Expertbook, but after enabling it in the bios, the Confirm-SecureBootUEFI command still shows false. The bios itself displays it as enabled, but windows doesn’t seem to recognize it.

Try checking the status in the registry as well. If it still shows 0 (disabled), try changing it to 1 and restart the device.
Go to:
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecureBoot\State
Set UEFISecureBootEnabled
to 1, then restart and check again.
Tried that and restarted, but the command still shows false.
Is there a specific reason you need secure boot enabled?
Yes, it’s a company policy to have secureboot enabled on all devices, but I’m struggling to get it working.
You should try restoring the secure boot keys to their default values. That might fix the issue.
Never tried that before. What does it do, and how can it help?
Sure! Resetting secure boot keys restores the original factory settings, which can resolve conflicts preventing it from properly enabling. Here’s how you can do it:
- Boot into Bios and press F7 to enter advanced mode.
- Navigate to the Security tab and set secure boot to enabled.
- And select key management, click on reset to setup mode, then confirm by choosing yes
- After deleting the secure boot keys, a new option called Restore factory keys will appear. Select it and confirm with yes.
- Save and exit Bios, then check if secure boot is enabled
I followed these steps and it worked! Thank you!
