Chrome disappeared after installationSolved

Hello there,

I don’t know what’s happening, but when I try to install chrome on our iPhones, I can see it installing on the device. However, as soon as the installation is complete, it disappears. The weird part is that I tried installing Microsoft teams the same way, and it installed without any issues. I’m confused—could this be a problem with chrome, or is it an issue on your end?

Well, one possibility could be that Chrome has been added to the list of blocklisted apps. Teams and the other apps are installing fine, right?

I tried a couple of other apps, and they are installing fine. I checked, and chrome isn’t added to the blocklist policy or blocked in any way. It’s only this app that’s causing the issue.

Could it be hidden? iOS 18 has a new hide app feature, and that might be the case.

No, no, no—I’ve checked the hidden folder, and it’s empty. Funny enough, Chrome is showing up in Apps in settings, but it does not appear in the app drawer.

Hello @eduardo
Thank you for getting in touch with us.

The issue you’re experiencing might be related to the Content Rating settings configured in your Hexnode policy. Since Chrome is rated 17+, this could be why it isn’t appearing in the app drawer, even though it shows up in Settings.

You can check and adjust this setting in the Hexnode UEM portal from Policies > iOS > Basic > Allow Explicit Content > Content Ratings > Apps

Content Rating restriction for app in Hexnode UEM

Looking forward to your response.

Best regards,

That’s great! As soon as I switched it to Allow all apps, Chrome appeared on the device. It was set to 12+ before. Thanks for your help!
