Guys, Apple’s integration with ChatGPT is raising serious data privacy concerns for me. Even though they’ve clarified that no data will be shared, I can’t risk allowing employees to sign in or use this integration on their Mac or iOS devices from an organizational standpoint. Is anyone else sharing the same concerns?

I have similar concerns, but this update hasn’t been officially released yet, right? Before enabling such an integration, we’d need to evaluate the potential risks it poses to the organization and determine whether it collects any data from the device. For now, there’s no need to worry since it’s still in the developer beta stage.
It sounds like you guys are dismissing the usefulness of this feature. This integration could enhance their daily routines by automating repetitive tasks. I think we should also consider the positive aspects of such a feature.
It’s not about whether the integration is useful or not—it’s about viewing this from an organization’s perspective. Organizations that are highly sensitive to data privacy wouldn’t want their employee’s to use this AI. For individual users, it’s their choice to use this feature, but for organizations, this could be a major area of concern. Hasn’t Apple provided any way to restrict or manage this feature?
I believe Apple isn’t adding the ChatGPT integration until the macOS 15.2 or iOS 18.2 updates. When I checked their documentation, I found there’s a key that disables the functionality of external integrations. Apple has released two keys to manage this functionality: allowExternalIntelligenceIntegrations and allowExternalIntelligenceIntegrationsSignIn. I think we need to keep an eye on this https://developer.apple.com/documentation/devicemanagement/restrictions page if there any more to it in the coming days.
Do these keys actually work?
I haven’t tested these keys yet to see how they restrict the integrations. Testing these restrictions is only possible on devices that have this functionality available in the developer beta. Let’s wait a bit longer—once this feature is released for public beta, we might get a better understanding of how it works.
