Hey guys!

Instant hotspot pop up

What is this? I didn’t even have my personal hotspot on, nor have I connected to one recently. This just started happening. It stopped when I turned my Wi-Fi on (I mostly use cellular data). I’m using an iPhone 15 Pro Max. Anyone got a clue?

It seems like the Instant Hotspot feature might have been activated. If you’re signed into the same Apple ID on another iPhone, it can automatically allow your devices to connect to its hotspot without you having to turn it on manually.

So, what exactly is this Instant Hotspot? I didn’t know about this feature.

Hi guys! Instant Hotspot is a feature that lets your iPhone connect to another iPhone’s personal hotspot automatically, as long as both devices are signed in to the same Apple ID. It simplifies the process by removing the need for you to manually turn on the hotspot or enter a password.

Hi all! Instant Hotspot is a new feature introduced by Apple. It uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and iCloud to allow seamless, password-free connections between Apple devices. When a device enters Wi-Fi settings, it sends a BLE signal with an identifier tied to the iCloud account. Devices signed into the same iCloud account or part of the same Family Sharing group can detect this signal and connect to the Personal Hotspot automatically. There’s no need to enable the hotspot manually or enter a password. The connection is encrypted for security, and the hotspot details are transmitted securely via BLE. This allows for easy sharing of an internet connection without complex setup, as long as both Wi-Fi and bluetooth are enabled on both devices, and they are within close range of each other.

If you need any further clarification, feel free to reach out.
