Issues with background applications when creating an allowlist for MacOSSolved

Hi,
I am trying to create an allowlist for Mac devices within our organisation. For the main applications this is working fine, those on the allowlist can be opened whilst those not included cannot be opened without a message popping up on the mac first. However, when pushing the allowlist policy onto a Mac device, numerous messages pop up stating that you do not have permission to use certain applications (however this isn’t for an actual application but seems to be things running in the background). Each time I then add whatever pops up into the allowlist through the file pathway, another pops up. It seems that there a hundreds of these background applications that are not allowed to run. Using the mac with all of these pop-ups is impossible. I have tried to add /system and /library as a pathway to allow all background systems to run however this hasn’t helped. Does anybody know why this might be occurring and if there is a simple fix??
Thanks!

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Hexnode Connect. We understand your concern regarding background applications displaying pop-ups when an Allowlist policy is applied to macOS devices. Unfortunately, there is no simpler solution than manually adding these background applications to the list of allowlisted applications.
