Hi, I had disabled the Camera restriction for iOS devices through the Hexnode portal to prevent the users from taking any photos or videos. This worked fine as the Camera icon is no longer visible, and there is no option for users to take any pictures. But on doing so we ran into an issue where the users are now unable to access the camera for using third party apps such as Google Assistant and PayPal. Is there any way to bypass this restriction to allow camera access for such apps?

Hey @timo-liam , the Camera restriction is an absolute restriction that not only disables the Camera app but also blocks camera access for all apps, including third-party apps like PayPal, on the iOS device. Currently, there is no method to selectively bypass this restriction for specific apps. However, if your goal is to disable the default Camera app while allowing camera access for other apps, you can use the Blocklist/Allowlist feature. To do this, follow these steps:
- Navigate to Policies, select Blocklist/Allowlist under App Management in iOS and click Configure.
- Select the option Blocklist. Then click on +Add and from the app inventory, select the default Camera app and click Done.
- Go to Policy Targets and click +Add devices to choose the specific devices for this policy. You can also associate it with device groups, users, user groups, or domains.
- Finally, click on Save to apply the policy.
This way, you can ensure that the users do not have access to the Camera app while still allowing them to use the device’s camera within third-party apps.
