Before we dive deeper into the sessions at HexCon24, let’s take a quick moment to go over one of the important product announcements during the keynote. Hexnode Access for macOS has just released a major update. Drumroll please!! 🥁🥁
For anyone who missed it, Hexnode Access is a feature that allows users to log in to their macOS devices using their cloud credentials. And the latest update focuses on improving the versatility of the application, and optimizing performance, without compromising on security.
Here’s everything that’s new with the latest update:
- Support for new IdPs
Previously, Hexnode Access allowed user login using their Microsoft Entra ID and Google Workspace accounts. With the latest release, we will be extending support for user login using Okta and OneLogin accounts as well.
- Custom EULA for all your organizational requirements
With custom EULA, you can improve user awareness and ensure a consistent onboarding experience for your users while adhering to your organization’s standards. You can add your custom terms of use from Admin > EULA, and the desired terms of use can be selected during policy configuration, under EULA settings. By default, Hexnode’s terms of use will be displayed to your users.
- Implement Hexnode Access during DEP profile configuration
You can also configure and deploy Hexnode Access to your DEP-enrolled devices by associating the Hexnode Access policy during the DEP profile configuration, ensuring a seamless setup and management of your devices right off the bat. Furthermore, starting with this update, you can also customize the initial login window, and enable FileVault during the first user login.
- Local account password sync with your IdP account
With the local account password sync feature, you can now grant your users offline access to devices by allowing them to log in using the last saved local account password. When enabled, the device will not check with the cloud identity provider for the latest password update.
