Hey @michael-trueman,

Thank you for reaching out to us and welcome to the Hexnode Community. You can install applications on your Android devices using the Required Apps policy or the Install Application action.

Required Apps Policy

The required apps policy installs the required applications on the target devices and ensures that they stay installed. So, if a user were to remove the application from the target device, the policy re-installs the application. To apply the policy,

  1. Navigate to Policies > Android > App Management > Required Apps.
  2. Click on the +Add button, select Add Apps.
  3. Now choose the required applications from the app drawer and click Done.

The required apps policy will also ensure that any new versions of the application will be automatically pushed to the device, so you don’t have to worry about keeping your apps up-to-date.

Please note that silent app installation of enterprise apps works only on Samsung Knox devices and Play Store apps on Android Enterprise devices.

Install Application Action

The install application action is more suitable for single-time app installations. To apply the action,

  1. Head over to the Manage tab and select the target device(s).
  2. Go to Actions > Install Application.
  3. Choose the required applications from the app drawer and click on Install.

For a step-by-step guide, you can check out our help doc on Android App Management. And if you require further assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. You can email us at support@hexnode.com or ping us here at Hexnode Connect.
