Disable airplay Solved

Hey guys new here! I’m looking for a way to restrict our enrolled iphones from using Airplay. Scavenged around hexnode portal to find a suitable restriction but couldn’t find any. We did notice the feature to add airplay devices to connect iphones but that’s not what we are looking for. If this is something obvious I am sorry in advance. But currently if someone could assist that’d be great!

We have been using hexnode for a while and don’t think there’s any checkbox simply available to disable airplay for ios devices yet if im not wrong. Did u check if u could do this by pushing config profiles?
Over the past years v have noticed that when it comes to apple related anything pushing config profiles has been the solve so many times!

Hey folks, it seems like you guys are having a good time talking hexnode.
@oscar To answer your query, currently, we do not support restriction to disable AirPlay. However, you can deploy custom configuration profile as @ella suggested and achieve a workaround. To break it down,

  1. Create a config profile (.plist, .mobileconfig or .xml) using Apple configurator or any 3rd party apps to whitelist devices that are available to the enrolled device for AirPlay. To create a configuration profile with Apple Configurator:
    • Open Apple Configurator. Choose File > New profile
    • From the configuration profile window, select AirPlay.
    • Under Allowed, provide the device ID (include the MAC address or Ethernet address formatted as XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX) of AirPlay destinations you want to enable for your device.
    • Choose File > Save, name the profile, choose where to save it, then click Save.
  2. Deploy the created configuration profile using Hexnode UEM.
    • In Hexnode portal, navigate to Policies > iOS.
    • Select Deploy Custom Configuration and Configure.
    • Click on Choose File and upload the saved configuration profile.
    • Go to Policy Targets and associate the desired targets.
    • Click Save.

Although this is not a perfect solution to disable AirPlay devices, by whitelisting devices you get to control the AirPlay destinations available to the device.

Hope this answer suits your requirements. Should you need any further assistance, please do not hesitate to reach us!

Cheers!
