Marylyn Harris, RN, MSN, MBA is a Cybersecurity Consultant, Speaker, Writer and Social Entrepreneur. Harris is a decorated (former) U.S. Army Nurse (RN) and Gulf War Veteran. Harris holds degrees in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing (MSN), Business Administration (MBA) and post graduate Certificates in Healthcare Information Technology and Information Security.
In 2018, Harris pivoted her career to Healthcare Cybersecurity and began studying IT Networking at Rackspace’s Open Cloud Academy in San Antonio (TX). Harris has attended over 150 Technology events over the last three years and received numerous scholarships, grants and requests to speak about her “non-traditional” career and pivot. In 2021, Harris delivered 25 professional presentations to diverse audiences promoting the value of diverse Professionals from "non-technology backgrounds" joining Cybersecurity/IT TEAMS to mitigate risk and solve challenging Cybersecurity problems. Harris is the President of HARRLAND Healthcare Consulting, LLC and the Executive Director of the country's first Women Veterans Business Center. Harris was honored as a "White House Champion of Change" by President Barack Obama, in 2013. Harris is the 2022 Houston Business Journal's "Outstanding Diversity Champion.”
