Many SMBs all over the world are either not bothered about device management and data protection or they use very complex device management solutions to manage their devices. As a result, data is either vulnerable or too costly to protect it.
Google came up with Android Enterprise Essential, a mobile device management service, with a primary aim to help SMBs with affordable yet efficient way to manage and protect their devices. Even though it is aimed at helping SMBs, Android Enterprise Essentials can be used by larger organizations who are trying to get started with device management or those who require only basic device management functionalities.
Android Enterprise Essentials is compatible on all devices which support Zero Touch Enrollment and is made available by Google certified resellers. Devices are managed through a portal. Android Enterprise Essentials provides basic functionalities like mandating screen locks on devices, remotely wiping vices, adding and removing devices remotely and allowing app installation only from the Google Play Store.
Android Enterprise Essential uses a feature from Google called the Play Protect to run malware detection and protection on every device on the background. The portal offers other basic functionalities like, check device status, addition of users and resellers and device management features like remove screen lock on a device and removal of unused devices.
Android Enterprise Essentials provide only basic mobile security features so if there is a need for additional or advanced device management features it’s better to choose an authorized EMM provider like Hexnode.
